As February starts to bite, the tradition of it being a shitty month seems to be continuing. Following in a long and glorious tradition (well, following Mortimer, anyway), the current Queen of Lib Dem blogging, Charlotte Gore, has hung up her keyboard. We mourn her passing, and reminisce about her many fine rants.

But as we mourn, we must celebrate the fact that this means a succession to the throne, and the next highest ranked female Lib Dem blogger is the one and only Caron. May Cthulhu bless her and all who sail in her.

That's really lovely of you, but I don't deserve it.

I am gutted that both Mortimer and Charlotte are no longer blogging. Let's hope that's a temporary thing and that neither of them will be able to keep away.

You are much better than me and so are Sara Bedford (www.sarabedford.com) and Helen Duffett (http://helenduffett.blogspot.com.

What's been interesting with the recent Scotblogs awards http://scottishroundup.co.uk/ is that although the blogosphere is very male dominated, the top Lib Dem, Labour and proper journalist blogs are all written by women.

Ok then:-). But we have to have beer to celebrate.

How's your foot today, by the way.

Actually Sara's blog is www.sarabedford.com/blog which is why it didn't go purple.

Yay! All hail Caron, Queen of Scotland!

Most amused to see that Harry Cole didn't even make the top ten Tory blogs. Clearly the Scottish blogosphere is far more discerning than its English counterpart.

Don't y'all write off the mighty Mortimer yet though; she posted a fortnight ago (saying nice things about my blog, which helps) and with a bit of luck there'll be more soon - if you read this Alix, hint, hint...

Great Captcha by the way; "whamming extensively".

The other thing that's interesting is that Tom Harris has been knocked off his perch. He only came 3rd in the Labour blogs and midway down the list in the politicians.

I agree with you re Tory Bear. I really don't like his cutting, sexist and deeply unplesasant style that he passes off as good humour.

You're also forgetting that the top Scotblog Politician's blog was Indygal, therefore it was only in the Nats list that a man sat atop the throne.

As I said to you the other night, I bear my teeth too often in the Scottish blogosphere so I'm a marmite flavoured sometime attack dog. Well written but some people just can't take well writen criticism ;)
