Rather than doing a Thoughts From the Train รก la Lady Mark (partly because I'm not as profound as him, and partly because the wifi on the train kept crapping out on me, and thus I'm not actually posting this from the train...) I'm going to post a bunch of song lyric couplets, in roughly chronological order of how they popped into my head over recent days. Not all of them are strictly relevant so I wouldn't bother trying to attach them to a particular situation if I were you, but points for anyone who can identify them all.
  1. I ran into my room and I fell down on my knees
Well I thought that fifteen was gonna be a breeze

  2. She hates time, make it stop
When did Motley Crue become classic rock?

(sorry, had to do that - ;) George) - 1985 by Bowling for Soup

  3. I loved the words you wrote to me, but that was bloody yesterday
I can't survive on what you send every time you need a friend
    - A New England by Billy Bragg

  4. That's what you get for falling in love
Now I'm addicted and your kiss is the drug
    - Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi

  5. A nice little house wife, who'll give me a steady life.
And not keep going off the rails.
    - Say Hello, Wave Goodbye by David Gray (cover of Soft Cell)

  6. I don't need no Monday or the rest of the week
I spend a lot of time in bed, but baby I don't like to sleep, no

  7. Would you like some zucchini? Or my homemade linguini, it's hard to beat
Have some more fettuccini, ay, you getting too skinny, you got to eat
    - Lasagne by Weird Al Yankovic

  8. I got it from some kitty next door
I went and see the doctor and he gave me the cure
    - Cat Scratch Fever by Pantera

  9. I got trouble, trouble in my eyes
I'm just looking for another good time

  10. Tastes so good make a poor man cry
    Sweet cherry pie
    - Cherry Pie by Warrant

  11. I'm sitting in the railway station. got a ticket for my destination;
On a tour of one-night stands my suitcase and guitar in hand.
    - Homeward Bound by Simon and Garfunkel

  12. As long as you're still smiling
    There's nothing more I need

    or, alternatively, the boyband version

If loving you with all my heart's a crime
    Then I'm guilty.
Karate tonight was... interesting. We had a mock for my belt grading and I think I did OK, except for the fact that my outside block is still woeful. This has led to the frankly bonkers idea getting into my head that I'm going to have to teach Mat how to do chudan punches so I can practise blocking them...

In unrelated news, one of the things that a certain Mr Strange was telling me this week was that he doesn't think he's rock 'n' roll enough. I think you guys should judge for yourselves:

I ask you, what could be more rock 'n' roll than being a Brucealike? ;)
