Have been playing about with layout and stuff today. The main difference noticeable to the reader is going from one sidebar to two. There is some stuff still needs fixing (placement of header text and gaps bretween modules, f'r'instance) but I am basically happy with it.

But don't expect it to be fixed very soon; I have to get ready for work now.

Oh oh oooh!

We have a way to stop the whingers. Completely.

I am playing around with different layouts. If you preview a layout, the theme ID perpetuates through links:
http://matgb.dreamwidth.org?s2id=1748

So we can design you a shining bright layout that's still personalised, and they can have all your content, including sidebars, but using a layout that they like. Could even default it to that (don't think we should, but could), and you can bookmark a darker layout to suit you entirely.

Assuming it all works fine, it should do, am checking.

And this comment wasn;t meant to be a reply to Leonie, ah well.

Look, your journal, my layout:
http://miss-s-b.dreamwidth.org/1065586.html?s2id=6964

You can get a list of all your layers here:
http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/advanced/styles?authas=miss_s_b

Then we need to build a horrible bright shininess, and hack links to it either into S2, or into a text box at the side.

It requires paid accounts (at least, as far as I remember), so you'd need to use the bookmarked version for yourself.

From what I can see, having tested with both logging out and an OpenID, it requires the account being viewed to be a paid account.

This is a brilliant feature, it means paid users can actually make use of their multiple allowed layers to good effect.

Like the large number of people that perpetually tell Jennie they can't read her dark background, but don't actually have an account of their own (as they blog elsewhere). style=light isn't good enough for solving their problem.

I like the colours, it's a lot easier on the eye than the "blacker than a Goth's belly button fluff" shade before (though, I didn't have a problem with that either, I just prefer this). Yay for you :)

Heh. The joys of design.

From what I can see, the colours are actually identical. It's just broken up a bit and some stuff is moved into better places.

Weird how perception is changed by minor differences.
