Doctor Who series finale stream-of-consciousness speculation
Monday, June 21st, 2010 11:56 amI don't have a coherent storyline for how the story will end, but I do have some pointers.
Given the presence of RogerLloydPack cybermen, plus the fact that Amy had never seen a dalek before, plus lots of other little hints that I won't list here (things being anachronistic and such in various places) I think we're in the wrong universe. I really really hope that we're in the one Rose bloody Tyler and her Tenth Doctor Shaped Sex Toy are in, and that they have been wiped from the space-time continuum entirely... ahem. Anyway...
I don't buy the Two Doctors theory. But there is the fact we have already seen a fair few time paradoxes. So the Doctor is quite capable of freeing himself, even if it creates a paradox, because once he's out, he can time travel.
The painting by Vincent

shows THE SHELL of the Tardis exploding, but another shell intact underneath. And if the box is destroyed, that doesn't mean that the Tardis is destroyed ANYWAY because the box is just the gateway to the wormhole that leads to the dimension of the Tardis insides. It has already been explicitly stated this series that the insides of the Tardis are in a separate dimension, remember, and Moff seems to be quite good at flagging things up early on so they're not total deus ex machina *coughcoughRusty*
I also don't buy the "River is the Doctor" theory, but if she IS, I know that DocTard people will be squeeing like mad over her final line. She's not apologising to the Doctor, she's apologising to the TARDIS.
I would like to see an explanation for why there are little model weeping angels and a Liz Ten in Amy's bedroom, and where this stone dalek I keep seeing in photos has come from...
