Attention Londony Peeps: Are you free on Tuesday evening?

I have discussed scheduling with mine host, and determined that Tuesday night is a suitable evening for BEER. Obviously the location will need to be somewhere fairly central so that everyone will be able to easily come. It will also need to be somewhere that has Proper Beer, at least to begin with (although I wouldn't be averse to ending up in the CroBar drinking silly cocktails).

Where is good, and who wants to come?

oh yes, they have cocktails. They are all named after cheesy old rock songs. I think I had a Charlotte the Harlot last time, although it may have been a Billion Dollar Baby...

Last time I was there they only had spirits, beer and REAAALLY cheap wine lol

For a good selection of Proper Beer, I suggest The Pembury Tavern, which is technically East London, but has lots of buses and is a stone's throw from both Hackney Downs and Hackney Central train stations.

No shortage of pubs, obs - the Harp in Chandos Place (between Trafalgar Sq and Covent Gdn) I rather like.

The Lamb in Conduit Street is awesome, and nicely central.

Can't fault the suggestions for pubs so far but a couple to add with a better choice of beers (The Pembury and The Lamb are tied to breweries):

The Bree Louise in Euston. Not a glamorous pub but does loads of ales (they say 16 but it's usually 12). Discount on beers and pies if you're in CAMRA.

And the Crosse Keys near Monument station in the City. An old converted bank, now a Wetherspoons. Absolutely stunning inside, and massive. Does about 20+ ales, at Wetherspoons prices.

I don't do Spoons. Used to work for them, refuse to give them my money now. Call it ethical shopping.
