If I were judging its deliberation, I would look for the following clues:
- some sort of reference to the DC Uinverse in which the trope originated.
- some sort of demnstration of the man's reaction after her death.
- the dead woman's body being in the fridge after she died.

I'm pretty sure I could mark off a few on my bingo card with "There were men in fridges too." and "It was an attempt to subvert the trope."
1 - Google "But men are drawn unrealistically too!"
2 - Episodic television that only barely passes the Bechdel Test is not attempting to subvert anything.
