Cool but as you might expect, I have huge issues with the SS stormtrooper. I know he's most likely supposed to be a zombie from Dead Snow but he's wearing full regalia, the mere possession of which would land him in prison for many years in various European countries, let alone displaying them in public. There's a difference between dressing up as a comic/movie villain and one that is undistinguishable (until you see the makeup) from a member of an actual historical group who killed millions.
I doubt very much Americans would like it if I turned up dressed as Osama bin Laden, Jeffrey Dahmer or the Unabomber.

If you were dressed as "Zombie Osama", it would be funny. Dahmer or Unabomber, depends on the crowd. If the costume was a good parody, or say Dahmer in a pink tutu, it'd be funny.

Personally, I find it hideous that it's illegal in various European countries.

I understand their reasoning, but I object on the deepest level.

It's funny, I didn't think "nazi", I thought "zombie from American Werewolf".

And I don't think Americans would be bothered if you turned up as zombie Osama or whatever, but given that this is London comic Con... Jack the Ripper? Fred West? Peter Sutcliffe? I can't see a problem with any of those, especially not zombie versions. The only one I could see being problematic MIGHT be Myra Hindley, because she was SO reviled...

I genuinely think this is a cultural German thing.

I think it's also a cultural British thing.

We have that kind of gallowsy humour. Maybe Americans would be happy to see a zombie Osama, but we're more likely to do it than they are.

Ahhhh, cosplaying. I love it so much. Gonna be taking loads of pictures for the Manchester Expo tomorrow. I'll likely be posting pictures at some point.
