It's foul evil stuff that is fit for consumption if, and only if, you're at the top of a mountain, at which point it can actually taste not awful, but never actually nice.

Oxygen starvation obviously does strange things to the tastebuds.

Exactly, which is partially why I tend to avoid mountaintops these days. OK, it's mostly laziness seeing as we live on the side of one, but...

They're the rocky things found in civilised bits of the country that'll still be above water when you flatlanders have sunk ;-)

I dunno, we have a few centuries of practice being below sea level (or at least below high tide level) but not actually underwater.

Can we lobby Dreamwidth for STV polls? I want to vote like for 1, hate for 2 and indifferent for 3. Just to be awkward.

I think there's already a feature request for this in the pipeline; if memory serves [personal profile] matgb may have had something to do with it?

You posted this as I went and found my post, yes, but we need a PErl dev to do the work, and I don't grok Perl

I'm a perl person but I'm not used enough to DW codebase to make it easy to do,

There are many people in [site community profile] dw_dev_training and the IRC channel who would happily help, but I tend to read the backend code and feel my brain melting, I can just about hack S2 code, which is much simplified, but I can't do much more'n that. There is pre-existing code to do run off voting on LJ, but it was apparently quite poor, but could be a starting point to look at.

Get someone that can code it and they'll be there, it's already approved as an idea (here), but finding a volunteer dev isn't necessarily as easy.

I shall have a look at it over the next few days, if the code is clean it shoud be easy enough.

I have yet to try Kendall Mint Cake, and if I have ever tried it in the past...well, shows you that it's probably a foul evil food stuff that I have blanked from my memory.

I've never tried it, but when it's described like that, it does sound rather nice... I do like minty things.

So Tim plied you with the revolting substance that is Kendal Mint Cake? Urghhh. Coming from the fair town of Kendal, the mintcake is the one bit that I wouldn't miss if the place was obliterated overnight!!

My Mum was at conference and I told her to keep an eye out for you and Matt and say hello if she happened to bump into you.

WTF re Sarkozy and Kendal Mint Cake 0_o ?! Poor bastard if he had to try it and look impressed...

I was always planning on attending conference with my Mum this year, but what with all the work shit that's been going on, me and Dave decided to go on holiday instead to try and reduce stress levels, so I've been watching conference from Cornwall, and wishing I was both here and there at the same time.

I'm definitely going to try to go next year as there's so many people I want to meet and I want to stick my oar in as well.

:D I shall definitely do my best to get to the next conference, and up the percentage of non-white-straight-male people asking awkward questions!

It would be good to finally meet up too.
