RIP Byron

[miss_s_b]

Byron's tumour got massively worse over the weekend. We went back to the vets' today and took the decision that, given that it was inoperable and was getting so much worse so quickly it was better to end it now before he really started suffering. I was with him at the end, and held him and told him what a good boy he was and that I love him. He died at about 11.30.



Rest in peace, baby boy.

As you say, even in this decision you thought of him first. It's so hard to let someone we love so much go, but you spared him suffering and he was in your loving arms when he went. I've had to do it, too, and it's so horrible even when you know it's the right thing to do.

Oh god, so so sorry to hear this Jennie. He was such a lovable, cuddly dog the one and only time I met him those few years back. He went know he was and always will be loved, and no matter how hard it was, it would have been much harder letting him live on in pain and suffering. My heart goes out to you and the family, lots of hugs for you all.

I'm so sorry- I didn't see this post, I've been rather lax in checking LJ and DW recently. I too, never know what to say, but you have my condolences.
