Hm, yea I was really into music when I was in high school and even back then, well before filesharing really became a "thing" it was obvious that none of the bands I loved were making a dime, at least not from record sales.

Nothing's changed, though, bands have *never* made money from record sales. Most just tour endlessly and try to sell enough tickets & t-shirts to pay the bills.

But yea, I could tell you several fun horror stories of bands getting screwed over by major labels...
