Hmm. I find it virtually impossible to ask questions, because it feels like too much of an invasion into other people's lives / time / whatever - and also, because it takes me a while to process information I've received (offline, effectively) to the point where I know what questions I want to ask about it. Didn't understand why until I got my autism diagnosis. So I'm kind of pissed off with the inherent assumptions in that article, assumptions that as of today, and the "atheism != privilege relief" article you posted, I'll know to call allist - especially at the point where it becomes explicit ("I just google it later so I don't look stupid"), because Googling stuff is in itself asking questions about it! And frankly, much more likely to get someone like me answers than an awful ten minute silence where I desperately try to think about what questions I might be expected to ask.

(I first encountered someone mistaking an autistic approach for a lack of curiosity when my chemistry tutor told me "yes, you're bright, but this person here is so curious about the subject and that deserves extra time". Didn't understand it was allist privilege for another 15 years, but...)

I was an obsessive question asker at school and uni, to the point where it pissed off everyone eles in the room - I need time to process too, but I always used to read back my notes at the end of the day.

The thing about not wanting to invade other people's time is a being-socialised-as-female thing, I think. I get that too sometimes, but it just makes me cross with the patriarchy and then I ask more questions just to spite Them.
