I'm not sure I'd go for a vote of no confidence specifically over the party democracy aspects here - I do understand why Conference decisions can't bind our ministers, because that could be used to tie them to voting for narrow party interests rather than in the interest of the country as a whole. I do have very serious misgivings as to whether we're getting the realpolitik right at the moment, though, and am considering whether the Welfare Reform Act has crossed my red lines.
