We wanted to have some women in the finale of Flare Path last year, mostly to fill out the party scene to be honest, but partly to reflect their engineering and other support roles. We were stymied by a lack of space in the dressing room (or 'dressing fire exit' as I like to call it) and it's a bit of a regret.

I should imagine Alex Salmond is a bit more conflicted about it than Caron might suggest, but given there's currently no newspaper that's broadly supportive of independence he'd be mad to ignore Murdoch's interest. So long as he doesn't succumb to bribery or otherwise allow Murdoch undue influence, there's nothing wrong with that. If anyone shows that that has happened - rather than suggesting it might - I'll join the condemnation.

Given the number of accusations of poor faith of various sorts from the other parties over the last five years, all shown to be groundless when investigated, I expect Salmond will be taking care to avoid giving them actual grounds.
