Date: Thursday, March 8th, 2012 11:47 am (UTC)TBH, the LDs couldn't have picked a better candidate; she's a damned good local councillor. Sadly for them, though, Bfd West is not Bfd East; there's very little of a power base around there, and that's even before the Clegg factor is added in. Still, her presence will piss the local Labourites off even more than Galloway's.
I'll be amazed if it's anything other than a Labour hold though, this is 2012, not 2004. I hope they choose Imran Hussain (personable, competent) ahead of Ralph Berry (worst type of party apparatchik) as the candidate. And will that chancer Riaz muscle on to the Tory ticket?
