C: You ever met that Lynne Featherstone?
Me (thinking oh cthulhu he's a homophobe oh nooooooooooooooo): Once or twice, yes...
C: She's a top bird, she is. Cos of her I can go to my daughter's wedding soon! Cos, you know, she'll finally be able to have one!

Cue massive relief on my part and huge grins all round.

Also, possibly because of what happened earlier, mum came in and bought me a brandy. Which was nice.
