They left out the cassowary in the gender thing. :(

The females mate with the males, lay eggs then bugger off forever. The males then raise the chicks on their own. Apparently some dinosaurs did the same.

Yeah, I can just see all the "would you like some cheese with that whine" and worse comments she must have had to moderate, too.

Also: don't feel bad for giving me recs! Recs are good!

Yeah, she must be getting some pretty harsh comments, because cthulu forbid, a woman is blogging about being clever on the internet and therefore must be taken down a peg or five.

On the subject of women blogging, thanks for the link to the Yuki-Onna post about the Chris Priest rant. Very, very interesting and the comments (well the 100 or so I read) were mostly supportive. I just can't stand the culture that considers it acceptable to threaten women who dare to blog.
