Trouble is, the spite isn't all one way. I can't help but feel that the whole rush into bed with the Tories was at least partly motivated by the opportunity to stick it to Labour, and there's certainly been a narrative coming from some painting Labour as the worst of the sinners, rather than merely the most recent. That such a narrative came from people who could also be found defending precisely the same mistakes that New Labour made when the Lib Dems made them didn't add to its persuasiveness.
