Interesting post. I think the thing I liked best about Noomi Rapace's Shaw was her quiet determination; but (despite being a Doctor of whatever) she's not as smart under pressure as Ripley.

Date: Wednesday, June 13th, 2012 12:51 pm (UTC)Tell them this particularly if they're targeting someone else (unless you have specific reason to think the someone else wouldn't welcome it.) We already know they don't care what the target thinks, so being told by that person alone isn't going to cut it - they need to learn that their "joke" is not okay with the community at large, including people they perceive as "like them" in as many other ways as possible. And, as Becky says herself, the target may already be too scared or too worn down to do it.
