I love Spotify. I use it lots. I have it on my phone. One thing I wish it had?

I wish I could search songs by BPM. Because that would make it LOTS easier to make up an exercise playlist of music I LIKE instead of crappy bloody bleepy dance music, which is all the exercise playlists I can find online....

totally agree...

+ key signature too.
+ all the Music Genome Project attributes (AFAIK only available via US-only Pandora Internet Radio). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Music_Genome_Project_attributes

You could try searching SoundCloud? Advanced search lets you filter by bpm, and you can exclude the bleepy stuff (unless it's been wilfully misfiled :)

I've not listened to anything (werk machine not currently set up to play sounds), so it may be 100% whaledreck, but a test search for 100bpm downloadable music tagged with "rock" returns 492 tracks.

They have a paid for version that's helpful if you actually use it to upload lots of stuff, but you just need an email address and password, tick the read-the-smallprint box, untick the send-me-crap box, and away you go.

Actually, you don't even need to sign up: here's the test search I did earlier, and it works fine on a browser that's not logged in.

BPM would work were it not for the popularity of blastbeats. Although you could always take up black metal drumming for the full cardio workout.

"Black Metal" are your angry Norwegians looking like rejects from Kiss singing about Satan and setting fire to churches.

This is a pretty good example. And this shows that its best if you don't take it seriously.
