• Bill Corbett shows people how to apologise
  He recognises that he did a bad thing. He apologises for his instant reaction to being told he'd done a bad thing, AND the bad thing itself. He makes it crystal clear he understands how bad it was. He says he won't do it again, and will donate money to charity to apologise. People, he might have done a bad thing, but this is a good apology.

If someone tried to tell me they were in a minority purely because they were a "person of intelligence" or a "person of integrity", I like to think I'd gently correct them and admit them to the [very large] minority that consists of "people of arrogance" or possibly "people of smug".

In Margaret Cho's case I'd suspect someone who read a little too much Rand at a little too formative an age and hadn't quite got it all out of her system... but that's just my prejudice showing. ;)

However, how long is it going to be before we have people trying to assert minority status based on being "people of wealth" or "people of power"? - oh, but actually, isn't that the implicit attitude we're actually seeing from certain people, and they simply haven't quite reached that point of self-delusion where they think it's acceptable to say it so openly?

It really wouldn't surprise me if we see that in a year or so. But hey, we're moving towards a situation where "people of wealth" might genuinely become a persecuted minority - thanks to a howling mob beating down their gated communities and stringing them up from lampposts, so...

Last time that one came up on Twitter, Moffat responded with the following:

"Oh, how many times?? The interviewer put the words of one of my characters in Coupling into my mouth. Not. My. Views."
