Veri and I were commenting that with our coverage of the opening ceremonies that they should've cut to a shot of Romney's reaction with the big NHS thing.

What worries me is that people might vote for him because they think he's funny, like some Londoners did for Boris...

My Boss (who is American if this matters) suggests this is because Americans like electing the underdog at least when they don't have an incumbent and given Romney can't really be described as the underdog I really do hope they see sense

They've been trying to get untrained teachers into classrooms for years - when I was teacher training the big concern was an attempt to expand the role of 'classroom assistants' from SEN handholding to delivering lessons.

The religious aspect is disquieting, but to me it's the utter disregard for professional qualifications. How can even a Tory government be so completely indifferent to the people teaching our children that they won't even enforce a single academic year of training?
