I'm not sure what to make of that Pink Paper story. If the drugs really are being administered primarily as a way of policing gender and orientation, that is obviously very wrong - but CAH, the only condition explicitly referenced in the article, is a potentially fatal condition quite independently of its effect on genitals and hormones, so there could be valid reasons for trying to prevent it.

This. Differences in genital appearance are the LEAST worry with CAH, the salt-wasting that accompanies it can be fatal very quickly.

I'm not really sure what to think without more info - does that treatment do anything for the salt-wasting issue or is it JUST about genital appearance/gender?
