I'm... intrigued by the opportunity of acquiring a Les Paul Epiphone, not something I ever thought I'd see bundled with a computer game for £120.

The songs! Learning to approximate the opening riff to Plug In Baby is my all-time proudest guitar achievement (I am really not very good at playing the guitar, but I like making pretty noises).

I think the Weeping Angels have to be used very carefully. Plonking them in New York does not fill me with any confidence. Chibnall doing Dinosaurs on a Spaceship (literally) is probably going to be terrible too, but with a title like that I'm not expecting anything other than a throwaway episode anyway. I don't quite know what to think about "The Power of Three" yet.

Oh, and yay Paralympics and quite right too.

But I still can't quite understand why they don't just extend the main Games to three (or even four) weeks and include the Paralympics as part of the main event, on an equal footing. As someone with a near-zero level of sporting interest, I can honestly say I'm just as likely to not watch disabled swimmers as their abled counterparts, and the current apartheid system seems a bit odd to me.

The International Paralympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee are two different organisations, although they have an agreement that, at least until 2020, the two organisations will hold their events in the same city.

I didn't know they were segregated at the organisational level so that at least explains the current situation.

Would we see the paralympians reduced to second class citizens? I suspect it'll be a bit different this year due to general tally-ho flag-waving, Blade Runner, and that Jimmy Carr joke... but in previous Olympics, I think second class would have been a promotion in terms of Paralympic awareness and coverage. Sad but true.
