Whoniversary Ebooks

So they've released the name of the first author of the Whoniversary Ebooks and it's Eoin Colfer. I have no problem with this, I like his work. I am now going to engage in rampant speculation about who else might be on the list. Apparently they are all children's authors. What the definition of children's author they are using is, I do not know. magister says he'd like to see Salman Rushdie on the list, and Mr R has written children's books... The ones I am willing to suggest might be on the list are as follows:

• GNeil, obviously, because he's been tweeting about research for a Who project and his cybermen story for the Welsh series is all done and written because they've been filming it.


• JKR is strongly rumoured too.


• PTerry and/or Rihanna Pratchett would be on my wishlist.


• Julia Donaldson, Michael Morpurgo, Anthony Horowitz, Cressida Cowell, Jaqueline Wilson, Charlie Higson and Babette Cole are also names I would put in the frame. And Allan Ahlberg. Possibly some of those are dead... Roald Dahl would be amazing if he were still going.

Who do you guys think might be put forward?

I'm sure there's others I'll think of, but they spring to mind just at the moment.

Is this another way of asking for our favourite monster? If so, I'll go for the Zygons. They only appeared once, but they made quite an impression on me. Very scary, with damn good costumes, interesting biomechanical technology and the unnerving ability to change shape, giving the cuddly Ian Marter an opportunity be sinister as hell.

If they ever make a comeback in New Who (and I dearly hope they will), I hope the production team don't mess up the design!

Oh we're all good. Holly is turning into a proper little geek. James is still the go to guy for Doctor Who. Mat is still a dinner lady. Roxy still mental.

Still haven't brung myself to scatter Byron's ashes yet, though.

I don't think it's wussy. I'm about the least spiritual person you could meet, and yet I visit the place where we scattered my Dad's ashes every Christmas Eve!
