Description of my job via Upgoer5

So a bunch of people have been doing this "describe your job using only the 1000 most common English words" thing. I've had a go. I don't think it's worked very well.

I phone people up and ask them about who they would like to run things, and if they would like anything done.

I store their answers and then someone else decides whether anything needs to be done about the answers.

Words I was not allowed to use: vote, government, council, local, representative, politician, record, responses.

I think that list of words I wasn't allowed to use is the best illustration one can have of how irrelevant politics is to most people.

I don't even want to try based on your list of words you couldn't use. I am a Table Research Clerk, meaning I research parliamentary procedure/conventions, etc. for the Speaker and table officers of a provincial legislative assembly. Mine would probably be limited to "I write stuff."

People who work for the same place as me ring me to get help with having their computers fixed.

Sometimes people like to pay money to go and sit in a big room and watch some other people do stuff on a high floor. Usually the other people are telling a story by pretending to be different people and doing the things those different people would do. Sometimes the other people do songs as well, and some more people help them by playing music.

My job is to make the first set of people enjoy it more by making sounds which help the other people tell the story, and making sure the first set of people can hear what the other people are saying, because sometimes the big room is really big and the other people can't talk loud enough by themselves. When there are songs, I also make sure that the music sounds good, and the other people can be heard above the music.
