I got home from work planning to put away my clean laundry and wash some dirty laundry and be all ibble-word. What have I actually done?

- played Scalextric (and broke the wing mirror off of one of the cars. Oops.)
- got myself a glass of wine
- ordered £90 worth of Doctor Who Tat for £25 in the BBC Shop 2 items for £5 crazy sale
- snuggled doggies

Now you COULD say I'm living the dream, but the laundry isn't going to sort itself... :/

Sounds like a far better use of your time. No-one's last words were ever "I wish I'd spent more time doing laundry"

Zackly. Anyone who thinks they've spent *enough& time snuggling with dogs has had a life well lived indeed.

She needs to do more Scalextric before I'll risk buying an actually expensive car tho.

Plus I need to put the track on the floor so there's less falling damage.

Good plans are floor and - on the corners - padded walls, if memory serves me right.

Yeah, the floors makes sense, but the dogs are a problem as they don't like not being in the same room as us.

We're thinking of options to set something up. Because the new Uber control system comes out in June and that looks really cool. Assuming they don't go bust by then.

...I'm guessing "don't like not being in the same room as us" also equals "would love to destroy tiny speedy noisy things, oh please, oh please, oh please"?

Also, I have to say that "Uber control system" gave me a mental image of making a booking through an app, then 20 minutes later a single Scalextric car drives through your living room.

Because that would be amazing.

Oh of course he is! (sorry, brain disconnected between "your dogs" and "those delightful dog-shaped things that get Instagrammed all the time" ;) )

Good luck working out a way to prevent "LOOK MUMMY I CAUGHT IT" being the eulogy for all your Scalextric cars...

Um, yeah...

The Scalextric ARC Pro has stuff like pacer cars and multiple cars on the same track, controlled remotely, including using a mobile phone. So you could, I think, record a lap and then tell it to go an hour or so later. Which would be interesting ;-)
