So I was leafing through my internet reading list and there appeared a post from the blog of someone who I still kind of think of as a child, even though she'd probably find that incredibly insulting. Lets call her a teenager. Name redacted to protect the guilty. And there are pictures on there of a very naked man - someone famous that this person has a crush on, screencapped from a film in which he appears full-frontal naked. And my brain goes, in quick succession
- "I wonder if her mother knows she's posting pictures like that?"
- "OMG I can't believe I just thought that"
- "I AM OLD"
- A stream of reminiscences about the sort of thing I was up to at her age, which make pictures of naked men look VERY mild
- "... Mind you she has very good taste in naked men..."
- "..."
- "... It's a shame I can't pin that to pinterest."
- "..."
- "... One day, SHE'S going to know how disturbing this train of thought was."
It's very weird when you catch yourself turning into your mother, especially when you've spent large parts of your life swearing you won't turn into your mother.
