Despite lovely [profile] crashmatt's last minute offer of a lift...

... I'm going to be good and not go and stalk Sam West tomorrow. I can't afford to, for one thing (£20 on tickets is a couple of rounds of drinks on thursday even at London prices, I'd wager) and for another thing it's going to be difficult to sort out the Shrub-sitting, and Ian will just be difficult.

And I'd only sit there and stare and go red anyway...

Stupid self

Had a lovely time watching TG with [livejournal.com profile] puddingcat last night; we practically laughed ourselves sick.

Hurrah for the cricket!

* happy dance *

Watched the last bit of Castrovalva this morning - hurrah! for Ainley!Master flashing bare flesh!

I did pants at climbing this afternoon, don't know why. Am going to go and soak in a hot bath and try not to think too much about the chipmunk that they've cast in Ant's part for season 29 of Who, or the fact that I've just chosen Sandi Toksvig over Sam West.

* smoochies for [livejournal.com profile] crashmatt anyway for the offer *

You'll have to come over for a drinkie one evening.

So far I've only watched the documentary about the transition from Tom to Davison. It's excellent.

the chipmunk that they've cast in Ant's part for season 29 of Who

What's this, what's this? I don't know anything about this! So I was RIGHT about the Master coming back, was I??

The chipmunk from Life on Mars has (reportedly) been cast as The Master.

He is totally unworthy of the beard of evil, and I'm even more pissed off than I was about Tennant.

Hmmm. I'm aware of the guy, but I can't actually think of anything I've seen that he's been in.

He's supposedly a good actor though, is he not?

Ever the optimist, I'll reserve judgement until I see him in action.

* sigh *

I hope your optimism is rewarded.

I'm optimistic that it will be! ;)

Really? I've seen him do evil very very well in the past. He's a bit tiny perhaps, but I'm very much looking forward to him. It's the writing I'm worried about...

Fandom response in general seems to be almost universally positive, apart from reactionary old-schoolers like me... :S

Noooooooooo. I'd be more likely to accept Eric Roberts as the Master than that little chipmunk from "Life on Mars". Certainly there's someone more worthy of the Beard of Evil... what about Sean Pertwee? Or Richard E. Grant? (Mind you, I'd rather see Grant as the Doctor...) Or even Joseph Fienes - after seeing him in "Shakespeare in Love" and "Elizabeth" it would be nice to see him as a real baddie, just to break with tradition.

Yep, I'm old school... very old school. We need someone who can bring decent casting back to Who. I'd volunteer, but I haven't had any professional experience. *sigh*

Rufus Sewell. It should be Rufus Sewell. Sean Pertwee could be good if he dyed his hair. Blonde Master is Just Wrong.

Blonde Master is Just Wrong.

What about a ginger one? :P

BTW - I was out with a bunch of folks for dinner on Saturday night and I asked them all if they thought I had ginger hair, and they unanimously answered in the negative*.

So nyah!

*One lass wanted to know what colour my body-hair was, but that was probably the wine talking...

Oh, naturally - Sean Pertwee would look good with dark hair, or maybe a bit of salt & pepper just to be different. :)

Just looked up Rufus Sewell in IMDb; loved his work in "Cold Comfort Farm". He'd definitely bring a lot of class and presence to the Master.

*Flogs RTD for being an IDIOT and not casting him!*
