Charlotte Green's dulcet tones really cheered me up this morning, as I was reluctantly dragged from the arms of Morpheus. The 9am news bulletin on radio 4 went like this:... and then the first item on BH was a nice long interview with Nick Clegg in which there was much talk about Vince's forensic dismantling of Darling in his *shudder* Daily Fail column. Add to that that the Observer has endorsed the Lib Dems for the Euro election, and CiF has a piece by Andrew Rawnsley about how we are the only party which is serious about electoral reform, and we seem to be dominating the headlines today.

So what are the top stories according to Newswire on LC? Not a single mention of the Lib Dems. Oh dear. I think the mice have been nibbling his cables again.

Excuse me. This hasn't got anything to do with your post, but I'm not quite certain how else to contact you, (I've never used Dreamwidth before and don't know how to go about it), but I found this fanfiction of yours (http://community.livejournal.com/thesixthdoctor/43269.html#cutid1) while paging back through the Sixth Doctor Community, and the link to the fourth part appears to be broken. Er, where is the fourth part?

I heard the headline about Labour in third place to LibDems - and I thought I must have misheard it!

It is good that Vince has a column in Daily/Sunday Mail - otherwise he's just talking to the converted. But I share your dislike...

The Economist has an article about how the one thing NOT featuring in UK Euro elections is - wait for it - Europe! Oh well.

Best bit? He doesn't let them pay him (it's not like he needs the money), instead they have to donate his fee to the Twickenham Lib Dems, making the Daily Mail the largest donor to his local party...

Yeah, I'm not really getting how the Tories being about to win is good news for anyone, in fact. I suppose it's slightly less disastrous if you have a permanent job and someone around to keep you out of the 'demonic evil single mother of doom' category, and aren't a refugee or anything like that, but it doesn't really seem like it's wonderful news for anyone. Though I suppose all the upper-management/bankers can contradict me on this. Frankly I'm just terrified.

It's not a good thing for the Tories to get in. It *is* a good thing that the Lib Dems are doing better.

And at this point, what damage could the Tories do that Labour haven't already done?

About This Blog

picture of Jennie Rigg

Hello! I'm Jennie (known to many as SB, due to my handle, or The Yorksher Gob because of my old blog's name). This blog is my public face.

I am a proud Lib Dem and make no apology for it. I joined because the Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity (from the preamble to the party's constitution). If you think that's a good plan, why not help the party?

Please note that any and all opinions expressed in this blog are subject to random change at whim my own, and not necessarily representative of my party, or any of the constituent parts thereof (except myself, obviously).
