Voting with the Small Person
Thursday, June 4th, 2009 10:33 pmWhen I went to vote this afternoon, I took
amazing_holly with me. She was very interested in the whole process, and I explained to her what I was doing at every point, and she was only mildly perturbed that I voted Lib Dem instead of green. I let her push my ballot into the box for me, and the box was very full, so turnout looks to have been good.
I'm trying not to think about the guy who pushed past us on the way out with the skinhead and the british bulldog tattoos and the big scowl...

I could only vote in the local election as I'm still German. Forgot about that. My parents usually sent me my polling cards so I could vote by post but since I finally moved officially (English address in passport), I didn't get one.
The nice man at the polling station said that I was only able to vote in my home country but I think I was able to vote in the last EP election here. I just checked the blurb on the German Embassy website and they confirm that (referring to requesting info from the EP so it might not be as simple as that. Bah.
