I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues
Saturday, June 6th, 2009 02:40 pmYou know, even thought I know that this was the shire county elections, and even in '97 they were solid Tory, doesn't make it feel any better seeing a map of my country looking like this:

Still, let's see what Sunday brings in the form of the Euro results, before we go getting TOO depressed, eh?

strangefrontier, I have chopped my hair this morning. It's now about the same length and shape as Missundaztood-era P!nk. Mat had to tidy up the back quite a bit LOL. It wasn't really long enough for the chopped bits to be any use for Locks of Love or similar, so does anyone have any ideas what to do with it? Will it be good for mulch?

I still haven't sent mine off to Little Princess Trust, and having a big chunky braid on the table over there is just getting creepy! My hair's even shorter now because I've had three trimming sessions trying to get it the way I want it.

Date: Saturday, June 6th, 2009 03:44 pm (UTC)I would not rule out the Norwich North by election being something of a banana skin for David Cameron and the Conservative Party as I imagine that there are some inclined to vote Conservative who might just cast their vote elsewhere in the knowledge that they will have to vote again for Westminister within the year. With the strong Green presence in Norfolk and UKIP polling well there, there would seem to be aleast two homes for disaffected Labour and Conservative voters which might well help the Liberal Democrats rise from third and win the seat for the first time.
Though I think I may have made a somewhat rash prediction elsewhere that Norwich North would make Westminister history by returning the Commons' first Green MP.

It's also supposed to keep wild critters out of the garden (American usage of garden-- a vegetable plot), though I don't know if that's a going concern for your herb pots. And yes, it will compost, though it will help to clip it into little short lengths first.

Date: Monday, June 8th, 2009 10:16 am (UTC)It's worse than that, as some of the undeclared counties are now blue, so yea, yikes!
There's all that blue, and then the *tiniest* yellow for Bristol. Sadly, the rest of the country seem to have forgotten the 1980s...
