I'm not watching Question Time or This Week this week. The one has Kelvin McKenzie on, and the other Quentin Twat, and I don't have the mental energy to put up with their arsehole-ish-ness. So radio 4 is on and I am checking my email and trying not to get to impatient about some things and miserable about others and...

Is Michael Jackson dead, or not? They said on the news unconfirmed reports...

Oh yes, and here are two blogs you should be reading:

1. nanila is consistently entertaining, a female scientist, and an American Anglophile living in London. What more reason do you need? I particularly liked this entry from earlier today, in which she talks about taking her Britishness test.


2. Dracula in real time (dracula_feed) is doing the same thing as they did with Pepys and Orwell, except that because the novel is structured not-quite chronologically, you get to see some things in a different order than you would if you were reading the book. I think it works better to have Jonathan's diary interspersed with bits of Doctor Seward's, for example. You've missed the hot sex scene if you're not yet reading, but there's still plenty more action to come.

I ought to take my happy pill.

MY FB f-list is going nuts over the MJ thing. So far, every news agency is saying he has died, but the BBC has just said that his 'health is in danger'...

I sat on the tube on the way home with a woman from the Guardian and two guys from some tabloids arguing about whether or not MJ was dead. The entire carriage, myself included found this amusing.

I'm convinced it was not the tube, but the handbasket.
