• Radio 4 links: Tarantino's Jukebox this morning was very entertaining, and I'm looking forward to The Political Club on monday, but the thing that made me squee the most today was Any Answers, sadly not available on listen again. The next-to-last caller was an extremely sexist man who said that if men disappeared then nobody would be able to drive lorries or run the electricity companies etc. etc. The last caller more than made up for this. She said:

  Caller: I'm a 66-year old spinster, and I change my own lightbulbs, do the oil in my car [long list of other traditionally male activities]. I suppose that according to the previous caller, I must be an honourary man?
  Dimbleby: And what is your reaction to this news that men are no longer needed for procreation? Do you think this makes them redundant?
  Caller: Oh, I shouldn't think so. People like to keep ornaments around, don't they?

  Give this woman her own show!

Gary Waller's a Tory, shurely? He wound up as MP for Keighley for a while IIRC.

I'm speechless about Irfan's latest inanities, not just the Godfrey Bloom-style sexism but the advocating of biraderi voting and the use of the "is it coz I iz black" defence to James's criticisms. If I were in Tony Greaves's sandals, Irfan would have been expelled from the constituency party by now.

Last time Tony was asked, he said Irfan's blog was the only blog in the world worth reading.

This was in the comments box of Lib Dem Voice, and he was also at the time very active in the forums. Consistency and accuracy of viewpoint not one of the Noble Lord's strongpoints. I'm told he has some though.

Good to see your list Jennie. I have linked to this now from the original post where I am trying to keeping track of who has done it.

As for Irfan's sexist comments, I just left a comment below it rather than linking to him and giving him the Wikio satisfaction. I think he is so high up Ryan's list because he posts about 10 times a day! (See one of Ryan's caveats about this).

I read every word you write, and I hardly ever look at Irfan's if that's any consolation and I'm sure most others are the same. I only saw it because others blogged about it. I've had my own go at him. That man must never, ever be allowed to be a candidate for us, not even for the most unwinnable seat in the entire country.
