I don't tend to do birthday posts.

Mainly because I am rubbish at birthdays; both my own and other people's. However, I am going to bend that rule today to wish a very happy birthday to djm4, who is one of the most thoughtful, most considerate people I know. He's someone I wish I could be more like, a lot of the time.

I wish I had your ability to write, and get quickly to the heart of an issue. My grandmother once said, on meeting Fred Truman, that he was 'powerful like himself'. Possibly we should concentrate less on wishing we were like other people, and more on being 'powerful like ourselves'. ;-)
