Peter Falk as Columbo saying "just one more thing"

This is just a thought, but since not many of us had heard of Trafigura before last night, it's entirely possible that we are all financially supporting their disgusting behaviour without even knowing. Would it be possible to compile a list of all the products they make a profit out of, kind of like the Nestle List, and then those who want to boycott can?

I'll edit in here the ones people tell me.

British Lions rugby team h/t Andy Hinton.
ING, Lloyds TSB and Royal Bank of Scotland banks (along with many more) h/t [personal profile] rhythmaning
Various international energy and mining companies also h/t [personal profile] rhythmaning

(Unity, I figure this kind of in-depth research is more your bag than mine...)

Damn... I see you've got the British Lions!...

Their website lists a joint venture with Puma Energy (don't know them!), operating in Ghana, Guatemala, and Malaysia; more here http://www.trafigura.com/our_business/oil_investment.aspx

It also operates through Galena Asset Management.

Banking relationships with ING Bank N.V., Lloyds TSB Bank plc, Natixis, Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, Standard Chartered Bank, Westpac Banking Corporation, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, BNP Paribas, Fortis Bank S.A./N.V., and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc http://www.trafigura.com/our_news/news/270309.aspx http://www.trafigura.com/our_news/news/131108.aspx http://www.trafigura.com/our_news/news/20032008.aspx

- remember, we own RBS and a large part of Lloyds...

Interested to see that one of Galena Asset Management's hedge funds was "suspended" on October 1st (the one with a portfolio of metals on the commodities market, for what it's worth).

Are you only listing British companies? Because their news page says they sponsered a Canadian Rugby team too.

About This Blog

picture of Jennie Rigg

Hello! I'm Jennie (known to many as SB, due to my handle, or The Yorksher Gob because of my old blog's name). This blog is my public face.

I am a proud Lib Dem and make no apology for it. I joined because the Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity (from the preamble to the party's constitution). If you think that's a good plan, why not help the party?

Please note that any and all opinions expressed in this blog are subject to random change at whim my own, and not necessarily representative of my party, or any of the constituent parts thereof (except myself, obviously).
