... thanks to lovely lovely [personal profile] trav28.

Am I the only person who had a huge crush on Gus?

Ah.

I see I am.

Carry on then.

I am suppose you could have said Henry; not having seen 'Drop the Dead Donkey' since its original transmission how well does it stand up in isolation from its era, I have recollections of many topical gags. The cheerful pink bat would seem to suggest that it does.

There's a good intro to the DVD from Andy and the other guy talking about the politics of the time, and then each episode gets a 'this was broadcast in the week that...' intro that they did for the repeats, so even if you can't remember the issue it still has resonance.

Later series turn more sitcomish and less topical comedy, but this one is very much about the news while setting up the premise.

It is certainly the 'situations' of later series that seemed to have stuck in my head, George and Dave's infatuation with Helen (? - the character that replaced Hadyn Gwynne's character, whatever her nmae may be.); Damian loosing his virginity to the blonde who liked sex in 'dangerous' locales.

It was always George for me, for the hurt/comfort potential. And Henry's a bit of a silver fox.

It as always the Neil Pearson character that I had naughty thoughts about.

At least your path to Gus is free, be happy about that:-)
