1, The Daemons is coming out on DVD!

YAYNESS! The Daemons has been my favourite ever Who since I first saw it, given that it's a perfect fusion of Hammer Horror and Who, plus has too many amazing moments to mention, including Five Rounds Rapid which is so awesome a whole section of fandom got named after it. I am SO impatient for this.

2, Given that I broke my convention viginity this weekend and really enjoyed it, I am now V tempted by more. I'm actually rather annoyed that Utopia is sold out, because it's in a gorgeous setting, is majority female on the guests, and is arranged by the same people who did the one I just went to, so is likely to be as well arranged. Also, you know, Damaris Hayman. She rules.

3, Fandom crossover: Cookery and daleks!

4, Did I mention that The Daemons is coming out on DVD? I really can't over emphasise how excited I am about this.

About. Bloody. Time.

It's [personal profile] stormsearch's favourite Who also. I use this fact to tell her that she's a non-fan, because, y'know, Pertwee. (WITH HORNS!) But I am still very fond of Daemons. Lethbridge-Stewart has never been better. Why yes, I would care for a dance, Brigadier.

That said I am currently watching Day of the Daleks and squeeing like an idiot, partly because Pertwee, and partly because there's only so much P.R.O.B.E. one can take in one evening.

In summary: Pertwee.

As a relatively recently deflowered convention attendee I can't recommend the SFX Weekender highly enough. If they can sort out the queuing problems for next year, it will be pretty much perfect (the scantily clad ladies really weren't as ubiquitous, or even as scantily clad, as certain tiresome corners of the Internet were bleating).

I've never been to a bike show (and as I still can't even drive this is very unlikely ever to change), but I suspect both the scantiness of cladding and the general sleaze factor is somewhat higher than with the Area 51 dancers at SFX. Plus those girls occasionally breathe fire and shoot aliens.

Can I add another vote for Eastercon? I'm even arranging the science programme there, so you already know some of the people who'll be speaking, including myself and [personal profile] nanila...

I'll be at Eastercon, too. I'll be on the 'Storytelling in Video Games' panel as well as wandering around being generally useful.

See you there!
