Ooh, that edition of Dracula looks very pretty. Methinks I'll have to shell out for that! :)

I hadn't really been aware of her before, but I've been Googling her and I like her style.

I am horribly out of touch with the world of comics now. I'm sure I'm missing lots of great stuff.

Am I alone in finding myself strangely devoid of resistance for the whole "burning wood is bad for you" thing? It's well-reasoned, well-argued and persuasive, regardless of what emotional associations I might have to a roaring fire. Do people really sputter and go "but, but..." when confronted with something that makes perfect sense? (The only thing I'd have liked to see added to his argument are some links to verifiable evidence, but I'm not sufficiently sceptical of his argument to insist.)

Of course, it's entirely possible that I've missed the point altogether... or maybe all I've done is demonstrate why I'll never hope to be "like a normal person"? *shrug*

On the woodsmoke/religion analogy, I think there are important differences - people who like log fires might be resistant to the idea that the smoke is bad for them, but they're unlikely to go around telling people who don't like log fires that they're going to suffer torment for all eternity, nor do they try to use their political clout to have "Why Woodsmoke Is Good For You" taught in schools.
