Firstly, the lack of pumpkins in Brighouse did not faze me one jot. Behold the Halloween Butternut Squash of doom!

Second, Miss Holly wanted to be a vampiress. She did her make-up all by herself!

Nice job on the gourd and the makeup!

No trick or treaters tonight - it's officially been postponed until Monday here

That squash is a thing of beauty

So's the costume! Although that COME HERE I'M GOING TO EAT YOUR SOUL expression is a tad unnerving...

Hm, the thought occurs that the butternut squash, if the other way up. would work as a carving of Roger from American Dad - or at least a generic Grey... I must try to remember that next year.

(Of course, trick or treating is actually a UK tradition brought back with a new name from America - but originally, before pumpkins, jack o'lanterns were made from Swedes...)

Brilliant, on both counts. I love that the squash looks like its brain is leaking out. ;)

Miss Holly did a very impressive vampire hiss when people answered doors last night. Showing gher the original Lee/Cushing Dracula was clearly a good idea. Personally, I'd say the make up's a combination of Japanese Noh theatre and something from Brides of Dracula, he says over-analysing far too much...
