If it were not for John Gray and the Macintosh SE-30s he used to keep in the old Pubspeak office when it was run out of the upstairs room of the Barge, before it was taken over by the Courier group, I doubt very much if I'd have embraced everything to do with computing the way I have over the last 20-plus years. It was there that I picked up how to use Quark from a splendidly-named non-cricketing old cove called Len Hutton who used to drink in the Clifton in Brighouse. RIP John.
