What is your opinion of Crocs?

They are horrific evil footwear that should be consigned to the bowels of hell

I am clinically insane
6 (54.5%)

(there might be an element of push-pollness here)

((also, knowing my f-list, several of you will want to tick "both" there, won't you...?))

While I have given the clearly correct answer, I should point out that a certain Mr C Baker would have to give the other one...

I figure I'm more nuts than Crocs-hating. The ones with the straps on the back and the big holes are stupid looking as all hell but Veri has some nice mary janes that actually resemble normal shoes

The actual Crocs-crocs are ugly as sin, but their fashion shoes are attractive AND comfortable. These are my go-to summer fancy shoe.

I had foot surgery when I was 17 which severely limits my ability to wear anything with a raised heel, and I can wear those sandals all day. I've had orthopaedic shoes that were less comfy.

I have a pair and they are excellent for wearing at the pool in summer to get across the searing hot concrete and back. But I am perfectly happy to admit that they are extremely ugly.

They are comfortable but ugly.

When they were all the rage here, I once wore some to a party, and joined a group of people talking. It became apparent that their conversation (started before I joined them) was about how much they all hated crocs and thought how ugly they were...

I can't be bothered to hate Crocs on aesthetic grounds. Nor Uggs. Sure, they are not particularly attractive, but it's not anyone's job to aesthetically please me unless I hire them for that purpose (or, you know, rent some of their time via the performing arts). I have worn shoes that aesthetically displease me for the purpose of being in less terrible pain than the shoes that would have looked better. So I have literally no leg to stand on here.

My vet-friend said they were the most comfortable things to wear when being on her feet all day, and she was really pleased they did a version that was entirely closed over the toes so she could get away with them in the surgery.

I wear walking sandals for as much of the year as I can, with everything, and walking boots or similarly grippy-and-flat shoes in winter. I tried Crocs and they're ok but too wide in the heel for me. I'm all for function-over-form when it comes to my feet and this has nothing to do with my insanity. (See also my VERY BRIGHT YELLOW running shoes, as further evidence.)
